I miss Asia Source 3!

thinking
Those were crazy times. The entire day time was practically devoted to sessions and evenings were for partying as well as post-party laugh trips. It went by so fast! I am glad to have been invited by Cheekay and because of that I met so many awesome people from different countries.

Some of them I get to chat with over Facebook and YM. And because of the Asia Source 3 people, I've become active on Twitter again. But Plurk is still my main home online. It was fun tweeting with Cheekay and Mifan earlier. Allan even showed up for a bit on Twitter. But at least I get to talk with him and Jace over Facebook. Tomas seems quite busy too though. I follow Dom's plurks and looks like he's got some exciting happenings in Davao. At least Shane's on Facebook and Twitter. Plus I have her number. As for Yolynne, we know each other well enough that it's not difficult to keep in touch. Hehe. I get to chat with Sabila too. I just feel guilty if I disturb her at work.

Mornings would've been interesting if I was able to record Gunner's singing and use it as my alarm. Hahaha.

Where's Sam? I miss Sam too! And he's got some awesome pictures of Cheekay XD I wish I could link to them here but can't. He hasn't posted them online yet, I think.

And just a while back Cheekay and I were tweeting about the Asia Source 3 x Star Wars mash-up. Too bad it looks like most of the AS3 folks are offline. It would've been fun collaborating about it.

So yeah, I just really miss them a lot and this post is an evidence.

chibitalia
Looks like I'd finally push through with cosplaying Chibitalia soon. I already asked one of our neighbors to make me a blouse. Then I'd just buy an apron because the one I made is sucky. My skirt's wearable and I just need to make a white kerchief for my hair. Oh and a hair cut. My bangs are too long for Chibitalia's. ^^;

After that, I dunno. Maybe chibi Russia just so I could carry a bottle of vodka :P

My sister's the one who's been sewing more often. I want to make clothes I could wear even after a con so it will take a while before I decide which article of clothing to make. Good cloth must be bought too. Also, tops are harder to make compared to skirts. ~_~ Tops would require me to make more patterns and learn how to sew darts.

Thanks to [info]miir, I have a new account somewhere else called WeHeartIt.com and I am gathering all sorts of pictures there to help me get inspired to write or plan a crafting session.

I am also trying to catch up with Merlin season 1. Castle is one of my must-watch series but JM is still busy so we can't watch it yet ~_~ Looks like we won't get to watch it together anytime soon.

Thanks to the Internet Archive. Too bad I can't unearth 2 of them. The Internet Archive doesn't have them :( Anyhow, I apparently wrote an Eva x Gundam crossover with Asuka and Duo as the main pairing. *lol* I wrote it for Joan back in college.

Makes me wonder how everyone at the NFTZu is right now.

It was really rainy yesterday and there was a flood at home. We had to move the dogs in the house because the water was up to their feet in their dog house/cage already. Panda was reluctant to go with my uncle. He had the defensive pose so I had to get him and he immediately jumped on to me. Panda happens to hate water that much. Maya was taken either my uncle or stepdad. She's still a baby and she isn't as averse to water as Panda.

So yeah, we really had to move furniture up our rooms. But our elevated area isn't that high either so I was afraid that we were going to have to spend the night elsewhere. Mom got home late in the afternoon and she saw our things were up our rooms. Dang had to stay at Anna's. Good thing she was somehow able to get down from the bus at Shaw and took the train to Cubao. She tried to go home but it was much better that she got to sleep at Anna's.

We lost electrical power yesterday and it was a good thing my phone, and other gadgets were all fully charged. The signal was weak last night but I could still receive SMS and calls. Thankfully we have food in the house and there was no more flood in the evening. We slept at home.

So yeah, things are much better now. Sorry if I made you worry because of my Facebook updates. But it was really scary yesterday. I was already resigned to having my books getting flooded as long as I could keep my netbook and gadgets (phone and stuff) with me so I could get back to work with all my data and people could get in touch with me. I am just thankful we didn't have to evacuate to somewhere else.

I was really tired yesterday after not figuring out what's wrong with an application I was trying to run on my machine and after fixing a certain error on one of the pages our client has on their website. [info]ruinai called me up and was asking to meet up while I was wrestling with those CRM and CMS issues. I just told her that I'd have to make it up to her next week by treating her to cream puffs and meeting up with her so we could have coffee. Anyway, I realized that our client won't respond to my emails anymore so I asked [info]jmibanez when we'd be watching "Up." He said we could try to catch it that night and we did settle for a 9:15pm showing of the movie in Greenbelt 3. He reserved tickets online so we could just pick them up before we eat dinner.

Good thing that we got our salaries released last night. Hooray for pay days! We ate at Baja, just to try something new. We ordered their supreme fries, a Baja chicken burrito for myself and a super grande burrito for him. We had no idea what to expect. The service was fast enough, IMHO. They immediately gave us our order of supreme fries. It was a plate of french fries topped with tomatoes, onions, guacamole, sour cream and chili. I loved how there was so much chopped tomatoes! The one who served us asked me if I wanted rice in my burrito and I said no because I wanted to try Red Mango's frozen yogurt. Having rice in the burrito will just be too heavy. Anyhow, JM and I ate the fries while we were waiting for our burritos. I told him that I hardly ate Mexican food because there weren't many Mexican food places where I live. And Mexicali was one place I've never eaten before. Ever. My friends and I never really went out for Mexican food, come to think of it. Anyway, my burrito got to me first and I started eating it when his order got to our table. It was one gorram huge burrito! They were right in calling it super grande! It was packed with rice, meat, beans and whatever else a burrito normally has. And it was so big that he didn't really know how to eat it. He can't just bite into it because it was just that huge. We were wondering if he could really finish it because he ordered a siding of chili con carne too. So yeah, after I finished my burrito last night, there was one third of the super grande burrito left which JM asked for the staff to pack up for him.

Before proceeding to the theater, I wanted to eat dessert at Red Mango. Kathy Co was raving to me about their yummy yogurt for how many weeks already and I became curious because there was a branch at Greenbelt 3 already. I got a small serving of green tea frozen yogurt and added toppings of red beans and almond mochi. Oh wow! It was so yummy! No wonder they would go there after lunch or during merienda. That cup of Red Mango frozen yogurt made me think that I should probably set aside money for that every so often. (LOL) Seriously. It is addicting. Too bad JM was so full because of the burrito. I am sure he would have liked it too if he was able to taste it. :)

We were a bit late for the animated short that was shown before "Up" because I savored my frozen yogurt. Anyhow, Glenn was right that I'd cry watching the movie. There was a series of scenes within the first 15 minutes or so that made me cry a lot. It was a hassle because I had 3D glasses on top of my actual glasses. And JM just held me then while I was crying. There were lots of funny scenes and lines, and there were scenes that made me cry. Dug was cute! He reminded me of Maya, our younger dog. And the kid, Russell, does remind us of Sheena - one of my fellow business analysts at work. I can't post any more spoilers though. Some of you might not have watched it yet. Go watch it! It's worth your time and money. :D

That is how Friday turned out. :) I am glad it turned out that way because the previous days were kind of meh except for me setting up happyeclair.com + the blog. Tomorrow I'd be going to Ocean Park with my family and Monday will be set aside for taking photos for the Great LC-A Race. I belong to Team Asia 1, aka +63. :D

XDDDD

Anyhow, I am still here lurking. Something about LJ makes me come back to it again and again. :) Can't leave LJ behind, just because. Even if I got another domain aside from http://craftyneko.com, where I keep my crafting blog (http://clair.craftyneko.com), I go back here. A lot of my blogging has started on LJ, really. I know some of you still hang out here often, as I could see from the locked LJ entries. Sorry I've been lurking a lot, except if we know each other on Plurk.

Am trying to get back into the LJ mode again. I am just glad that Nikki still remembers me. (Thanks to Facebook!) Same thing goes to AD and PJ who comment on my FB status messages. I love you both for trying to make sense out of my FB status messages <3

Also, I am glad that Jonette and I are now closer thanks to Plurk and YM XD And crafting!

I miss Richi though :( I used to talk with him a lot through YM and Gmail and LJ. I hope he's ok.

Where's Patrick/[info]desolateharbor? Does he still hang out here?

It's really amazing. <3

We're not always the happiest. We're not always the saddest. (Thankfully!)
We're not always in agreement. But we don't fight everyday. (Thank heavens!)
It's really nice that despite our busy schedules we still get to spend time together. I am happy about that. :)

It's all about the love and commitment that we have to each other, that's why we're together.

I met him through a friend, we started talking a lot over LJ and YM and we're even working together for almost 3 years. I don't know what's going to happen next but I do wish for the best.

This post should have made it last Wedneaday but I think that I've been on Plurk more than I stay in LJ. But it's better late than never. ;) And this is LJ, one of our first channels of communication so it has its sentimental value.

Going to Cebu!

I am going to be in Cebu from Feb 5-24. Almost up to my birthday -_- That's the downside, IMHO. It seems too long for me.

A lot of my clothes are still in Makati so I'd be going home on Tuesday and Wednesday nights just so I could pack whichever I'd be bringing along.

I'd be bringing along Yotsuba and 2 Pinky St dolls and 2 of my cameras. The old rangefinder will get tested a bit more in Cebu as well as the Vivitar UW&S. :) Adventures with toys and cameras - who said I just have to have work, ne?

Pepper, Katz and I all want to go to Bohol too. So let's hope we get the chance to do that :)

Any tips are welcome :)

I might be a couple of years too late for the series but I guess I already am hooked on Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (aka Wallflower, Perfect Girl Evolution). I caught an episode of it on TV5 some time last year and I was curious after that. Ja gave me files of scanlations of the manga and I downloaded the episodes some time last December.

I think it's Sunako's chibi-ness that won me over, really. The prettiness of the guys was just a bonus. Sunako and Kyouhei's awesome fighting skills will always amaze me XD

Chances are, I'd catch up with the manga chapters while I am in Cebu. <3

I got my glasses the other day and because I need to spend for an upcoming trip plus the Aspire One, I got the frames which are packaged with the multicoated lenses for 1350pesos. (Cheap, right? Considering that the lenses are 950pesos already.) And now my co-workers tell me I have this Jessica Zafra vibe. Grawr. It's not a bad thing except that, napapagtripan na naman ako =_=

It's a yearly tradition that I greet you somehow on your birthday :) Thanks for introducing me to Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng movies! Seriously, those HK movies are great. I haven't watched much movies in a while and I've seen some Korean ones too but nothing beats the magic of that duo.

I hope you're having an awesome birthday!

geek, working, work, geek mode
Got mine from Villman SM North this afternoon. I didn't buy anything else today except that. Too bad that they didn't have it in pink!

Specs of my Aspire One: http://www.villman.com/Product-Detail/ACER_ASPIRE_ONE_160GB_XP

[info]jmibanez pointed out to me that it's probably ok for me to use it as my work machine in terms of specs. :) Let's hope it's really the case for me *crosses fingers* An Acer Aspire One instead of the Thinkpad X61 is cheaper. Like the AAO is half the price of the X61 kind of cheap.

In any case I think that Inara might not be an appropriate name for the blue colored Aspire One. Maybe River might be a good option. It's just that she's unstable. Sort of. Wah. Zoe isn't quite right either. I should look for another series to base the AAO's name on.

Possible names:

  • River Tam - from Firefly + Serenity. Smart young girl of many skills. Highly esoteric. I know that there will be a lot of tweaks before I get the AAO to work well with Ubuntu so I don't want to jinx it by giving the name River.

  • Zoe - also from Firefly + Serenity. One heck of a fighter. I don't think the specs of this machine is up to that.

  • Deanna - as in Deanna Troi. The counsellor from Star Trek TNG. I've always liked her. She seems to have this quiet strength about her.

  • Beverly Crusher - also from ST: TNG. My AAO is blue. Isn't she often in blue uniform or something?

  • Hagu - from Honey & Clover. She's a small girl but she is amazing. She might be a little weird but she is adorable.

  • Keiichi - from Ah!My Goddess. He's a university student of short stature. But he can work well with all sorts of gizmos.

Right now, I am actually biased towards Deanna and Keiichi. I am not sure which is the more appropriate name... Waaaah~! Other suggestions are welcome too.

I still have the coughs and it's so bleh~

Why oh why?! :(

I think it's the air conditioning because it's too cold. And when I am outside the office, it's sometimes too hot. So hot and cold -- my body can't seem to figure out how to adjust.
